  RU MBA Student Association Officers 2007 - 2008

  President - Candice Witt

Candice Witt: As an undergraduate, Candice received her Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. She graduated with a 3.9 GPA in her business related courses and currently has a 4.0 GPA in the MBA Program. Candice was also recognized on the Dean’s list for the 2004-2007 academic years and is a member of The International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. She is a student member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Presides over all meetings and activities
Coordinates and communicates with all members of the Executive Council and the faculty advisor Co-signs all checks with the faculty advisor

  Vice President of Programming - Mike Pingel

Mike Pingel: As an undergraduate, Mike received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance, with a minor in Economics. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, and had a 4.0 GPA in business related courses. He graduated in May 2007 in just 3 years as an undergraduate, and is a member of Beta GamaSigma Business Honor Fraternity. Mike was also a recipient of the Delta Pi Academic Award at graduation.
Presides over all meetings at which the president is not present
Serves as the co-liaison, along with the VP of Public Relations, to other student organizations
Maintains contact with the faculty advisor
Coordinates guest speaker appearances
In the event that the president is unable to complete a term of office, to take over the position for the remainder of the term and to make any necessary appointments to fill vacated offices.

  Vice President of Membership - Jason Burnette

Jason Burnette: As an undergraduate, Jason received his degree in Management in 2004. His hobbies include being with friends and family, visiting the beach, and of course business. Upon graduation Jason plans to pursue a career in marketing or the business side of sports.
Presides over meetings at which the president and the VP of Programming are absent
Maintains and distributes a current roster of membership
Coordinates the collection of dues with the treasurer

  Vice President of Public Relations - Matt McPherson

Matt McPherson: As an undergraduate, Matt received his Bachelor’s degree in Management and currently has a 3.5 GPA in the MBA program. Matt has traveled to more than ten countries throughout Europe. He also has more than ten national and state championship titles in the shooting sports.

Maintains relationships with local employers

  Vice President of Alumni Relations - Paul Ballas

Paul Ballas: As an undergraduate, Paul received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He graduated with a 3.2 GPA and was President of the Political Science Society. He graduated in May 2007 and was the Athletic Coordinator for SGA. Paul was the top intern in Virginia for Northwestern Mutual in 2007.
Selects a gift for guest speakers and coordinates refreshments for meetings and events
Serves as the co-liaison, with the VP of Programming, to other student organizations on campus
Plans and arranges social functions for the organization

  Treasurer - Jessica Cockrell

Jessica Cockrell: As an undergraduate, Jessica received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.6 and currently has a 3.8 in the MBA Program. Jessica has been on the Dean’s List and received the Outstanding Accounting Student Award at her May 2007 graduation. She is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Establishes and maintains bank account(s) for the organization
Reports the condition of accounts at all regular meetings, including all relevant expenses
Monitors account activity, and maintains a file of receipts for all expenditures
Safeguards all bank transactions to insure that all withdrawals are countersigned by the president and the faculty advisor
Works with all VP’s on budgets and expenses including the funds generated by dues and from other sources

  Secretary - Alison Landin


Alison Landin:
As an undergraduate, Alison received her bachelor’s degree in Management, with a minor in Economics.


Responsible for maintaining accurate minutes of all meetings
Responsible for correspondence to all members and MBA students


 

  Webmaster - Dale Marsh


Dale Marsh:
As an undergraduate, Dale received his bachelor’s degree in Information Science and Systems, with a minor in Business Administration.  He is a second degree black belt and certified instructor for Tae Kwon Do.  He is a member of the National Computer Science Honor Society Upsilon Pi Epsilon, National Fraternity of Kappa Delta Rho, and Society for Advancement of Management.

  Advisor - Dr. Clarence Rose

 

Dr. Clarence Rose is a professor of Finance at Radford University. He serves as the Advisor of the MBA Student Association. He also serves as the Director of the MBA Program. Dr. Rose helped to establish the Student Managed Investment Portfolio (SMIPO) at Radford and serves as their faculty advisor.
